My Nanna’s garden was its own world with small spaces tucked between the roses where a little girl could disappear for hours.  Gwennie’s Cottage is the quilt that grew from those memories.  An English paper piecing quilt kit, complete with Liberty Tana Lawn, our hand-dyed Cottagecore threads, paper pieces, templates and iron-on embroidery transfers. Everything gathered into one box.

Kits are gathered, checked and packed by hand from our studio in Australia.  Carefully boxed for the trip and loved by stitchers globally.  If anything isn’t quite right when you open it, send us a note and we’ll look after you.

Frequently asked questions

Q: I’ve never done English paper piecing - can I still start with this kit?

A: Yes, this English paper piecing quilt kit was designed with confident beginners in mind. The pattern walks you through both EPP and embroidery in clear, gentle steps, and the included templates and gadget sets take the awkwardness out of basting your first hexagons.

Q: Is everything I need really in the box?

A: Almost. The kit includes the pattern, Liberty Tana Lawn fabric, hexagon and half-hexagon templates, paper pieces, iron-on transfers and the ten Cottagecore threads. The only additional fabric you will need is for the backing. You’ll need to supply your own embroidery needle, fabric scissors, a hoop and an iron - most stitchers will already have these at hand.

Q: Does it ship internationally?

A: It does. Kits leave our studio in Australia and travel happily to AU, NZ, the UK, the US and Canada. Checkout will show the most current shipping options for your address.

Q: Would this make a good gift?

A: It’s one of our favourite kits to gift. The box arrives beautifully presented and gathers everything a stitcher needs to begin, which makes it a particularly thoughtful present for a milestone, a thank you, or someone newly curious about quilting.

Q: What’s the story behind the design?

A: Gwennie was Katie’s Nanna and the quilt is named for the small, private corners of her cottage garden.  It’s also a companion piece to our Field Journal Quilt - the two were designed to sit happily side by side for stitchers collecting the series.
