Type

Whether you use these as pincushions, or a way to spell out a name, or your favourite word on a bookshelf, these Alphabet Blocks are such fun to make. Each block has and upper- and lower-case letter, as well as a range of appropriate motifs: ants, aardvarks, agapanthus, atlas moths, anchors and apples; balloons, blue-bells, blue carpenter bees, butterflies, buttons, bobbins and bows!

Each block has a stitch count of 105w x 140h and mainly uses full crosses over two. There are some backstitches and satin stitch. The model uses two strands of floss over two threads of linen (unless specified). It is suitable for beginners to advanced stitchers, and can be stitched on Aida, linen or evenweave. Stiff fabric is partiularly good.

Models stitched on 32-count 'Platinum' by Zweigart using a combination of Cottage Garden Threads and DMC.
