MOJO STITCHES - EMU VIEW

Inspired by the flora and fauna with whom we share our neighbourhoods, this new series will travel all over, exploring and celebrating our shared environment as home. ‘Emu View’ depicts a mother Emu and her chicks, in front of a tiny old farmhouse (the kind that perch in their solitude out in the country), almost dwarfed by its ever-so-necessary windmill. Emus are a majestic sight in the wild – their enormous size and speed are truly
impressive.

This design has a stitch count of 57w x 58h and uses full crosses over two, and some long backstitches. In my model, I used 1 strand of floss over two threads of linen. It is suitable for beginners to advanced stitchers, and can be stitched on linen, Aida or evenweave of any count that you prefer.

Model stitched on 32-count ‘Platinum’ by Zweigart, using Cottage Garden Threads hand dyed variegated 6 stranded cotton threads.. The model is finished it as a small pillow, but it looks equally good framed.
