I have done an alternative to joining the embroidery blocks together by crochet…. On the back I have used charm squares… I used a lot of Cgt but some of my own variegated ones . This is the second quilt I have done using CGT the other one is the Xmas one from last year using “snapdragon” which is a beautiful colour for Xmas projects. Happy sewing . Freda
I did not want to make another quilt so I constructed this mobile version my husband calls the Hanging Garden. (Pls ignore the wall-hallway is under reconstruction!). The pieces sway and move when someone walks by or when the heater/Ac vent comes on so there is lots of movement. The embroidery pieces are backed with thin cotton batting and faced with Fableism Woven Sprouts fabric line. The pieces are suspended by a very thin chain. I just loved making these embroideries and the beautiful threads.
Can’t wait to get my teeth stuck into this gorgeous project. The first square is done and I am simply in love with the quality of the iron on prints and especially the stunning yarn!!!!
Having seen a friend do this as a block of the month I was very keen to share my love of embroidery, quilting and Liberty lawn in one project. Planning on doing all 108 blocks plus repeating my favourites and maybe some other designs to make a queen size quilt. So 1 down and about 179 to go!!

I just started working on the Field Journal. I think it will be a lovely quilt. The colors are fantastic. Still waiting on the fabric for the sashing. The kit was nicely kitted with fabric for the embroidery blocks and interfacing. Beautiful array of colors. It will take some time to get this one completed.
