As stitchers ourselves, we designed our threads with you in mind - so you'll love the colour, feel the difference, and find joy in every stitch.

Thoughtfully dyed

Every thread colour is available in 5, 10, or 50 metre skeins. We begin by selecting the world's finest long-staple cotton, then hand-dye each skein with short colour changes and seamless blends - so you can enjoy stunning variegation even when stitching the finest details.

Continuity from Start to Finish

Our threads are conveniently pre-cut to length*, with the same colour at each end. This means a seamless transition every time you finish a length and reload your needle - no jarring colour breaks, just beautiful, uninterrupted work.

Low knotting, low frustration

From preparation to finished thread, our meticulous process delivers a high sheen and an impressively low knotting rate. Say goodbye to frustrating knots interrupting your flow.

Clever Packaging

Our pop and drop packaging for 10m skeins keeps all your thread information right at hand. Simply pull on the left-hand side of the skein - it untwists and is ready to use, length by length or strand by strand.

*5m and 10m Stranded threads are pre-cut 50cm lengths. 50m skeins are continuous. See the Packaging tab for more information.
Thread Weights & Length

Stranded – 6 stranded thread is divisible into 6 strands and can be used as a single strand or multiple strands together. CGT stranded threads are 10m (10 yd, 93 in) cut into 50cm (19.685 in) lengths. Perle - Single stranded twist that is used singularly.

Perle thread has a sheen finish because it is a round thread. The higher the number of Perle – the finer the thread. Perle 12 is equivalent to 2 strands of stranded cotton. Perle 8 is equivalent to 4 strands of stranded cotton. CGT Perle threads are 15m (16 yd, 40 in) continuous.

All in-stock threads are usually dispatched within 48 hours*
(Monday to Friday, Australian Eastern Time AEST/AEDT).

During sale periods, this may extend to 5–7 days from the date your order is placed.

If a colour isn’t in stock, our small-batch process means it will be freshly dyed, packaged, and dispatched within 14 business days.
